Sophia,

When I return to Fremont, count on me, I am your rock and your unfailing support all the time, because I am your cheerleader.

I know and I am prepared to support you during this very difficult time. But, that’s life. When you have a goal, when you have a high mountain to climb up, this is a necessary process. In the future, in life, you will encounter the same journey. I have been in your shoes many times in my life. You have seen me ups and downs. but our family is always a harbor for us to rest in the evening, to depart for our goal in the early morning.

Dear Sophia, Happy 20th Birthday!

The poem of this card describes exactly what we want to express to our dearest daughter on her 20th birthday! raising a girl to an adolescence, is a journey of ups-and-downs, sweet-and-sour but a rewarding experience. Dad and I are so proud to have you and you’re always our #1 priority! May you dare to dream, to persevere, and succeed and be happy always!

… P.S. 20th birthday for girls is very import to Chinese parents. My parents gave me the jade bracelet that I wore over 27 years- it has been my daily companion in happy times, in hardship when i was pioneer in USA, in failure and in success. so we chose this ….
