For my birthday, my parents sent me an mp3 as a card. My dad is Japanese, my mom is Korean, and neither of them speak the other’s native language. Needless to say, I grew up speaking English to them both, and in turn they learned to speak and write more properly in english throughout the years because of me. However, a bit of the accents and grammatical errors are still there, and I thought they sounded really cute in this audio. Oh, and they are also devout Christians, which explains the part at the end.

I recently turned 19, and for my birthday, my parents gave me a card. Inside was their ‘personal message’, which reads:
“Happy Birthday
Love you alot 5/29/10
Mom and Dad
You are my special.”
I’m still trying to figure out the last line.

On Mother’s Day, I had left a card and chocolates for my mom to find in the morning. That morning, she had written us this note on the back of an old envelope:
Thanks for the card and chocolate. I know they are your precious!!! ^-^

[Your dad] & I went to see ‘KA’ show last night, it is just like circle
show except no animals. I fell to sleep for a while till [your dad's] cell
phone rang & fell on the floor. This is not a free postcard so don’t throw
it away, it cost me $1.00. Bye.

My birthday card from my parents looked very fancy, with a ribbon and everything, until I opened it…
“our son a result of good parenting.”
“Signed,
Mom and Dad.”
